How About...Mysterious Moon

41 Years later and she keeps revealing herself
Image taken by Ignacio Morales

Yes, you read correctly, there are still tons of secrets for us to unveil, from our Moon. This year hasn't been the exception, who would ever wonder about a similar...

core to the one present at our planet Earth.  What NASA researchers finally found, was that presumably, the Moon has a solid iron-rich inner core (radius 150 miles)  and a liquid-iron outer core with a radius of 205 miles.

These new discoveries, suggest that the core may contain small quantities of sulfur. Quite interesting, comparing it to our own core that contains sulfur and oxygen.

But wait a minute...how did scientists were able to conclude such idea, if we have not traveled to our Moon, lately?

Well apparently, all these information was gathered during the Apollo-era moon missions. Thanks to the program called The Apollo Passive Seismic Experiment, in which four seismometers were deployed between 1969 and 1972.

Stay in touch for more mysteries of our Moon.
Thanks to NASA, for the Artist's rendering of the lunar core.

and of course, thanks to you.
