How About...Iron Man

Iron Man, comic, movie and beyond.

Did you know that Tony Stark from Iron Man is based on a real person?
Well, now it is time for you to meet the real Iron Man, who actually appeared at the most recent movie Iron Man 2.

His name is Elon Musk, and he likes rockets, science and technology. He was born in South Africa, he is now 38 years old and owns Spacex and Tesla Motors.
After studying in Pennsylvania University (where he studied business and physics) and being a Standford Physics Phd. program dropout, one idea brought him fame and fortune, and I am sure you've heard of it: PayPal.
Yes, he invented the electronic payment method called PayPal, which was then purchased by eBay for 1.5 billion dollars in 2002. WIth his fortune he created Tesla Motors and SpaceX.
Tesla Motors is in charge of developing Electric powered cars, named after the great inventor of Alternate Current Nikola Tesla, which are at the same level as Porsche, Lamborghini and even Ferrari.
While on the other hand, SpaceX is the first private space agency of being capable of launching a rocket into orbit and successfully placing a satellite.
The most exciting part of all these is the great NASA contract for 278 million dollars SpaceX received, the reason is because SpaceX would be in charge in a near future of providing ISS (International Space Station) Astronauts with supplies and even transportation.

Incredibly, Elon’s SpaceX factory was used as a shooting location for Iron Man 2. It was the location for Whiplash’s (aka Ivan Vanko) factory in the movie.
Also he appeared for ten seconds in the movie Iron Man 2. Just before Iron Man got into his F1 racing car (wearing a white suit)

"We need to sit down with Elon Musk," Downey told Favreau during the planning stages of the first Iron Man movie.
In Time's "The World's Most Influential People" of 2010, Favreau writes about how the South Africa-born SpaceX CEO inspired him, putting him in the spotlight as one of the world's most influential "thinkers" of 2010. “ (news.discovery)

Now you know that Tony Stark’s Iron Man character was inspired by Elon Musk, we would be able to see what he is capable of doing with Space Transportation, keep in touch, you might see a next How About…Privatized Space Travelling”
